Purchase Delicious Spanish Poppy Seeds to Add to Your Pantry

Poppy seeds qualify as a nutritional superfood. These nutty-flavored seeds have a unique flavor that makes them welcome additions to a range of dishes, from sweet desserts to lemon-flavored muffins to salad dressings. Their texture also makes them perfect complements to bread such as hamburger buns and bagels.

You may be wondering how you can use poppy seeds in your diet. There are many options, allowing you to turn them into a dietary staple you reach for no matter what meal you’re preparing. Here are a few ideas:

  • Breakfast: Sprinkle poppy seeds on cereal. Add them to cream of wheat. Put them in pancake batter. Enjoy them as a thin layer in a yogurt parfait. Throw some on top of cinnamon rolls.

  • Lunch or Dinner: Poppy seeds make a creative addition to stir fries, balancing out the veggies and meat with a nuttier flavor. Try them in curries to reduce the heat of the dish. Or, prepare poppy seed rolls for a treat alongside a dinner salad. You can also make a poppy seed dressing to pour over spinach salad.

  • Desserts: Stir seeds into lemon curd. Add them to the jam in fingerprint cookies. Make a batch of almond poppy seed muffins. Bring coconut milk to a boil and add poppy seeds and a bit of sugar for a vegan “pudding.” Use poppy seeds in pound cake.

Health Benefits of Poppy Seeds

They are more than just delicious, though. These small seeds also have loads of health benefits. Want to fight off diseases and improve the way your body functions? Add poppy seeds to your diet to experience the many positive side effects, such as:

  • A boost in cognitive function, thanks to high levels of B vitamins
  • Improved digestion, due to high fiber content
  • Raised good cholesterol levels while lowering bad ones

Do you want to protect your bones? Poppy seeds contain calcium, which can strengthen your skeleton. These seeds also contain iron, which helps your muscles store oxygen. Eating a diet rich in iron also combats anemia. Finally, poppy seeds supply zinc to the body, too, which protects your immune system and fights off bacteria that can hurt the body.

The United Kingdom seeds are better than the seeds from Spain... BUT as far as price per pound (Spain) there is no better!!! And I received the seeds the very next day from the date of order. So all around... from product to shipping the experience is Great!!!

I ordered these poppy seeds in bulk, and was delighted to find them being of above average quality, and with rock bottom prices! Bakers and soap makers will both enjoy the value to cost ratio these yummy Spanish seeds provide! What a great long term source of bulk high quality seeds. If you are going to make pie filling be sure to give them a rinse. All natural products like this are best processed right before use in my opinion. The freshness of these seeds (the delicate monounsaturated fats inside each one) seem to be fresh and not oxidized, unlike their pre-washed counter parts available from your inferior competitors! Keep up the good work my friends.

    A little above average

There are no reviews yet so I apologize in advance for being long-winded. I rather enjoy talking food!

These are a lot less nutty than typical. You can toss them in a hot frying pan (no oil) and heat them real quick on a high temp to get rid of a pretty strong pepper taste otherwise it'll transfer to your food, especially pastry and lighter Asian sauces. Some Italian salad dressings are better with the peppery taste so don't be so quick to throw them in a pan to release nuttier flavor. Yes I'm that guy who likes cracked pepper on salads lol, but no need if using these in a dressing which is nice. The red seeds will blend with other herbs and spices in the dressing.

You don't have to rinse that dust off as much as seeds in the past. The seeds are pitch black and very small and fine, and occasionally have a few red stragglers. If you're using them for muffins you might wanna pick them out. Not the best tasting and aesthetically a red dot on a yellow muffin (or in white frosting) stands out a lot, but it doesn't matter when you're filling babka or making hamantaschen and rugelach. You can mix chocolate with the seeds when making hamantaschen and not have to get rid of the pepper taste as it gets overpowered... and arguably almost tastes a bit better depending on your palate.

No large and blue-grey like you see with England. None of that annoying wheat colored flake stuff. So if you're going for presentation, you may lose a bit for them not being large and "classic", but if you cook a lot of vegan dishes and European dishes, or make Asian sauces or Italian dressings, they're totally fine.

Rated this 4/5 since SN has been a great supplier and number one store for seeds and dried nuts and fruits, but product rating is a 3/5. Picking out reds so my muffins look OK is tedious, but there's not tons anyway, and so is the added step of flash frying to make them nuttier. But, I'd rather do that than waste water having to rinse them off all day, so thanks to you!!

Thank you for providing a quality baking seed. A 50lb bag for larger kitchens would be nice, and would save a lot of plastic.

Great product, good prices, and beyond excellent customer service! Please don't close, these other inferior companies are an embarrassment compared to you. I have never been treated as if my business didn't matter until you were closet and I had to use another company. Nothing compared to you and your business!!!

    Very good seeds

They taste a bit different from the UK seeds but all aroind quality seeds. They aren't the overall BEST I've ever had, which is why I gave 4 stars and not 5 but I highly recommend and I will be purchasing again.
